I suffered with all sorts of aches and pains after having had my first baby, having been checked out at the Doctors he suggested I try Pilates. I had seen Paula online during lockdown so contacted her, Paula explained that I was just suffering from a weak core, so together we worked rebuilding this. Paula explained how a weak pelvic floor can cause back pain and although I felt my pelvic floor was in good health we still worked on recovery to help build a strong torso and I have to say I am impressed, I can bounce freely, every mums dream right! The best part was that Paula included my little one during our sessions, so we had some lovely mother and daughter time. Highly recommend Paula, she is very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble.

I met Paula through Studio 35, and joined her Pilates class just before Covid struck.

We have been meeting regularly now for over a year, and I have to say that my flexibility has increased greatly - I can now touch my toes with ease.  After each session I leave feeling taller and with a swing in my step.

After damaging my back power lifting, I found myself bed bound for over two months with very little movement achievable. I had carers coming in twice per day to help wash and feed me. I spoke to Paula who gave me three simple exercises (one being a breathing exercise) to strengthen my core whilst laying in bed, this undoubtedly aided my recovery after surgery.

After a second major operation on my spine, I spoke to Paula again and booked an online one to one session in which Paula gave me more exercises to help improve more core and back strength. Although at first I thought they were very basic, I had muscle soreness within a couple of hours. I now know that the exercises were working. I have now completed my last session with my physiotherapist, 8 weeks post surgery and have been signed off. My physiotherapist has been amazed at my progress each time I've seen them and this is largely down to Paula's expert advice, guidance and support.

I continue to train with Paula along side my love for lifting. Paula has become a good friend and has helped me come so far for which I am immensely grateful.

I have been seeing Paula for one to one sessions for 15 months now and the classes have really made a huge difference to my back pain. I was seeing my physio who recommended I start Pilates for my back and strength. I tried group sessions with other instructors but never felt any better as I was just doing a general program. Finding Paula has been great because she can target exactly what part of my body to work on depending how I am feeling that week.

She is always on hand to answer any questions or send me over some new stretches if I need them. Paula is very knowledgeable and very patient she makes the sessions fun and she is lovely and chatty and the time just flies by.

I am a colleague and friend of Paula's, after moaning daily to Paula about my pregnancy aches and pains she asked if would like to be a case study for her qualification in pre and postnatal. I jumped at the chance knowing how well Paula looks after her clients. I knew I was in good hands. Paula showed me some ways to help release my tight over worked and overstretched muscles whilst keeping baby safe. We had so much fun in class. I looked forward to seeing Paula and learning alongside her. I defiantly got to see Paula’s kind and gentle side.

Highly recommend her and her thirst to help people.

Growing old gracefully, is the saying! What that really means is accepting middle aged spread and generally becoming less and less fit as time goes on.

My wife decided that this is not the way forward for us, (in other words I was dragged kicking and screaming to a local gym). With aches and pains mounting we found ourselves working out with likeminded people our own age.  To my complete surprise I found the benefits both uplifting and beneficial. The aches and pains especially in the lower back that has dogged me for the last twenty years or so still seemed to flair up and take its toll.

It was here that we became more intently aware about Pilates. I always thought Pilates was something for the younger fitter people in society, not the retired ladies or gentlemen of our era. How wrong were we!

We Met Paula, the Pilates teacher or (The all things bendy person).  Paula introduced us to the art of Pilates and I have to say, all though not easy it has transformed our lives, no more lower back pain that I had put up with for years and an all-round feeling of good health.   I will not lie; it is not easy! But Paula (The bendy person) makes it both fun and personal. Every session is tailored to your personal development and yes during the session you realise just how much you hate the bendy person. But she has changed our lives in the most positive way.

A wonderful, witty but firm Pilates teacher! Thank you for all your hard work.

That said we still have demon thoughts to the bendy person.

Would I recommend it…Absolutely! Make Paula your Pilates teacher you won’t regret it!

Paula was recommended by friends and we joined in her online sessions during lockdown. After lockdown our physiotherapist recommended Pilates, we met Paula in person and explained why we needed her tuition which she designed a personal programme for us both. We have continued to attend regular classes and are feeling the benefits.

Paula is very likeable and explains clearly how to correctly do all the exercises. And most of all we have fun!

I found myself having lots of pain through my hips and back during pregnancy, something I haven’t suffered with before. I stumbled upon Paula online during lockdown and decided to approach her for some advice. Paula was currently studying pre and postnatal Pilates so took me on free of charge and I have to say, it was amazing! I would have paid her if she had allowed me.

Paula also explained the importance of pelvic floor health and has given me lots of advice to help prevent any further damage in this area.

Pelvic floor health

I approached Paula in the gym after seeing her advert in the toilets for weak pelvic floor. I was very embarrassed as I have a prolapse and am trying to avoid surgery. Paula was very sensitive and professional for the first session but could see I was struggling to understand. Paula then explained she is going to ditch all things technical and used relatable and sometimes rude expressions. This put me at ease and created very funny sessions. I laughed so hard I was able to put Paula’s knowledge into good use during class by trying not to pee my pants. Paula uses a fabulous little ball as a visual to help explain how to combine Kegels with breath and exercise.

Paula was kind enough to open up to me about her personal health issues making her more relatable, explaining how it is common in both men and women and not just those who have had baby’s.
